Sports Physiotherapy in Oakville

Sports physiotherapy for Oakville athletes who want to get back to playing, not just stop hurting. A full hour with a registered physiotherapist, objective testing on VALD equipment, and a return-to-play decision based on numbers.

How we work

Sports physio that finds why you got hurt

Most sports injuries have a cause above or below the sore spot. A hamstring that keeps straining can come from how the pelvis is controlled. A painful knee can come from the hip or the ankle. Treating only the painful tissue tends to work for a few weeks, then the problem returns.

At our Oakville clinic, your first assessment is one hour, one to one. Your physiotherapist screens the whole movement chain, then tests what the injured side can actually do compared with the healthy one.

  • Full-hour first assessment with a registered physiotherapist.
  • Objective testing with VALD ForceDecks and VALD HumanTrak.
  • Manual therapy plus progressive loading, so rehab ends with capacity, not a sheet of exercises.
  • Return-to-play testing before you go back to full training.

Sports we see

Built for Oakville's athletes

We work with hockey, soccer, rugby, running, basketball, racquet sports and golf, from youth players to adult league and competitive athletes. The aim is the same at every level: get you back safely and lower the chance of the same injury again.

  • Ankle sprains and recurring instability
  • Hamstring, groin and calf strains
  • Knee injuries, including ACL and meniscus rehab
  • Shoulder injuries in contact and overhead sports
  • Tendon pain: Achilles, patellar, hip and elbow
  • Overuse injuries in runners and young athletes

Return to sport

Cleared on data, not on the calendar

Feeling fine is not the same as being ready. After many lower-limb injuries, one leg can still produce noticeably less force than the other well after the pain has gone, and that gap is hard to feel. Before you return, we re-test strength, jumping and landing on force plates and compare both sides.

You leave with a clear picture of where you are, what still needs work, and what to keep doing to stay healthy through the season.

Common questions

Sports Physiotherapy in Oakville — frequently asked

Do I need a referral for sports physiotherapy in Oakville?

No. Physiotherapy is a direct-access profession in Ontario, so you can book without a doctor's referral. Some insurance plans ask for one before they reimburse, so check your plan.

Is sports physiotherapy covered by insurance?

Most extended health plans cover treatment by a registered physiotherapist. Apti direct bills to most major insurers. See fees and insurance.

How soon after an injury should I book?

As soon as you can. Early assessment helps rule out injuries that need imaging or a doctor, and early, well-dosed loading usually speeds recovery.

Do you treat youth athletes?

Yes. We see young athletes for sports injuries and growth-related pain, with a parent or guardian involved in the plan.
